Desde el año pasado, los productos de SKINFOOD se han vuelto muy difícil encontrar. ¿Qué paso con SKINFOOD? ¿Por qué no puedo encontrar los productos en cualquier lugar? Y si los encuentro, ¿por qué son tan caros? A menos que puedes acceder fuentes de noticias coreanas, puede ser una respuesta difícil de encontrar.
En 2018, SKINFOOD presentó una solicitud de reestructuración ante el Tribunal de Bancarrota de Seúl porque tenían dificultades financieras. La corte decidió que sería "colocado bajo su administración judicial." [1]
¿Qué significa esto para los que les encanta SKINFOOD?
Realmente hay buenas y malas noticias.
Las buenas es que ahora SKINFOOD posiblemente puede evitar cerrar sus puertas para siempre. Después de algunos cambios dirigidos por la corte, como la reducción de su línea de productos, SKINFOOD y aquellos que los representan anunciaron la venta de la compañía en febrero de 2019. Las ofertas han sido recibidas y el interés ha sido grande. [2] En mayo 2 de 2019, Pine Tree Partners fue seleccionado como el nuevo dueño.
La idea es que el nuevo propietario pueda inyectar el dinero necesario y los cambios para continuar la producción y las ventas. En julio de 2019, SKINFOOD presentará un "plan de rehabilitación" que incluirá como se reestructurarán para pagar sus deudas. [3] Podríamos ver en este año un SKINFOOD revitalizado, según la dirección que tomen.
También hay malas noticias, desafortunadamente.
Desde el anuncio del año pasado en octubre, las ventas en línea de los productos SKINFOOD se han reducido, haciendo difícil que los vendedores como nosotros obtengamos los productos que te gustan. A medida que pasaba el tiempo, los mayoristas dejaron de almacenar SKINFOOD ya que aumentaba el temor de que la producción se detuviera. Ahora, es casi imposible encontrar cualquiera de los productos populares en línea, incluso para nosotros.

Aún con la venta de SKINFOOD a Pine Tree Partners, puede tomar algún tiempo para recuperar la confianza y para que los productos vuelvan al mercado. Todos tendremos que esperar a ver si SKINFOOD puede superar estos eventos turbulentos.

In the past year, it's become progressively harder to find SKINFOOD products. So what's wrong with SKINFOOD? Why can't I find their products anywhere? And if I find them, why are they so expensive? Unless you're able to access Korean news sources, it may be a difficult answer to find.
In 2018, SKINFOOD filed for restructuring with the Seoul Bankruptcy Court because they were struggling financially. The court decided that it would be "placed under its receivership." [1]
What does this mean for us who love SKINFOOD?
There is good and bad news.
The good is that now SKINFOOD can be potentially be saved from closing its doors forever. After some changes led by the court such as reducing its product line, SKINFOOD and those representing them announced the sale of the company in Feburary 2019. Bids have been received and the interest was high. [2] On May 2nd, Pine Tree Partners was named the new owner.
The idea is that the new owner may be able to inject the needed money and changes to keep production and sales alive. In July, SKINFOOD will submit a "rehabilitation plan" that will include how they will restructure to pay their debts. [3] So we may see within this year a completely new SKINFOOD, depending on what direction they take.
There is bad news, unfortunately.
Since last year's announcement in October, online sales of SKINFOOD products have been reducing, making it hard for sellers like us to get the products you love. As time passed, wholesalers stopped stocking SKINFOOD as fear increased that production would stop. Now, it's almost impossible to find any of the popular products online, even for us.
Even with sale of SKINFOOD, it may take some time for faith to be restored and for products to re-enter the market. We'll all have to wait and see what happens and hope that SKINFOOD can make it through these turbulent events.
